January 19, 2007 DES MOINES, Iowa -- A former corrections officer is sentenced this week to 70 months in federal prison. Milton Ringgenberg, 50, of Callender, Iowa, who worked at a state prison in Fort Dodge, pleaded guilty on Oct. 16 to conspiracy to manufacture and distribute 5 or more grams of methamphetamine and manufacturing 5 or more grams of meth, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office. Ringgenberg admitted in his guilty plea that from 2004 to December 2006, that he had an agreement with his wife to manufacture and attempt to manufacture meth in Webster County and the surrounding area, the release said. His wife, Brenda, was sentenced earlier this month to five years in prison. Ringgenberg also admitted that at least three times in 2005 he possessed pseudoephedrine for the manufacture of at least 50 grams of meth, the release said. In addition to prison time, Ringgenberg will have a $200 special assessment imposed against him and will have three years of supervised released after prison. www.ketv.com/news/10796596/detail.html
