What should I avoid doing to protect my privacy from my ISP? (Avoid, as in like avoid google.com.. etc. not as in start protesting in from of White House I wouldn't do that for the fact that I want to live!) Which companies you this I should get for my ISP/home-phone/cell-phone, companies that don't mind your business. What other things should I know about this government that I don't, what other secrets are there? |T|H|I|S| |I|S| |C|H|A|O|S|

|T|H|I|S| |I|S| |C|H|A|O|S| I really don't care for Cingular, AT&T, Bell or Yahoo. They are all owned by one company now. Im finished with Cingular come December, my cell phone contract with them runs out then. Cingular is being sued in several states now for giving the government telephone information of its customers. AT&T, Cingular, ECT., now have it in their "policy" that if you use their "service," you have no right to "privacy" and they can give out your information without a court order or warrant. The government is trying to get passed a law that all Internet servers, must keep their "records," forever. They want them to keep the records for like two years or something like that. I believe in the past that servers only kept records of ISP, for like 3 months to a year. Now companies like Yahoo and AOL, may have been keeping customer records indefinitely. I would shop around for "servers" and ask them straight up front about their privacy policy. Ask them under what circumstances do they give out your information and to who. Ask them how long they keep records, etc. They shouldn't give out your information, unless they get a "warrant" from a judge. As far as surfing "anonymous," you can always get a lap top and go to "hot spots," which are places that have unsecured wireless Internet connections that you "tap" into and use. Very hard to track you down that way. Another way can be found in the link below. policecrime.proboards28.com/index.cgi?board=thehelpdesk&action=display&thread=1142978391Below are some more links, that will maybe answer a lot of your questions. policecrime.proboards28.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=sayit&thread=1155008983&page=1policecrime.proboards28.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=sayit&thread=1150999000&page=1policecrime.proboards28.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=thehelpdesk&thread=1147790650&page=1policecrime.proboards28.com/index.cgi?board=hy78t4d56t6&action=display&thread=1138810196www.eff.org/
Sorry, I'm not understanding this clearly, no offence to you
Read all the links and you will. That's where I got all my information.
By Internet Server you're saying Domain Names.. or that includes both Domain AND ISP?
ISP
Them.. as in who, Domain Names or ISP?
ISP
You're saying they've have already started keeping records already.. and keep them forever ?
I believe all servers kept records for a small amount of time. I also believe AOL and Yahoo maybe never deleted their records.
Which company you going to get afterwards, if you dont mind me asking..?
I'll have to get back with you on that one. There's a post somewhere on this board about which companies didn't give information to te government. There was only maybe 2 or 3 companies. Also "throw away" phones are great as well.
