Is this harassment or Police intimidation?

I was on the highway in the high speed lane going 80/70, there was a guy riding my tail. I see a police officer up ahead pulling out of the emergency vehicle turn-around, so I adjust my speed and start merging to the right, since my exit was coming up. I checked my rear view mirror to see where the officer had gone and he was tailing the guy who was behind me, about 200ft back and still in the high speed lane. I got to my exit, but had to merge late because I was unable to get over in time - no one would let me over. Then right behind me I see lights, so I pull over on the side of the exit ramp. The police officer gets out of his car and comes up to mine and asks me where I'm headed, and I tell him, he then yells at me telling me that I got off the wrong exit for where I'm going, I started to tell him I had to pick up my ID for work that I had left at my aunt's house, who lives by that exit. But he interuupted me and started yelling at me saying that I was trying to elude him. He never told me why he was pulling me over and he never asked to see my license and registration, I handed it to him while he was yelling at me. He goes back to his car for about 5minutes and then comes back with a ticket saying that I was speeding, and then yells "YOUR DAMN LUCKY I DIDN'T ARREST YOU FOR TRYING TO ELUDE ME!"
I have a perfect driving record, now why would I do that?! And also, doesn't it seem like I'd speed up and try to get away when I saw his lights, not stop my car?!?!

I don't understand this, when I'm driving on normal roadways and a police officer is behind me, they've never stopped me and arrested me for "eluding" them because they never signaled for me to pull over! I knew he wasn't in the off ramp when I got in because I checked my blind spot merging into it and didn't see him, so I know I stopped immediately after seeing his lights. What, did I "elude" him because it took me 20 feet to come to a complete stop? He can't even begin to accuse me of that when he never had his lights on! Is this worth filing a complaint against this officer? I did everything I was supposed to do! I feel like from him yelling at me and trying to tell me I was eluding him that I would feel intimidated and agree to it, but I didn't, so he just yelled at me more!

From an officers rose colored glasses point of view this is what he expects from you. Anything outside this box will piss him off. Remember this is what a police officer expects us brain dead cattle to do for him and he rejects anything that we do for ourselves.

What to do when you’re pulled over

As you coast to a stop on the shoulder of the roadway, you know that sick feeling -- you've been busted. And now, it's time to pay.

We thought it might be a good idea to share with you some advice on how to behave once you're pulled over. So, we asked a few state troopers for their list of do's and don'ts. Here's what we gathered:

Pull over as soon as possible. As soon as you even think that you might be the one that the highway patrol car is after, pull over. This shows that you have proper respect for emergency vehicles' right of way, and doesn't necessarily mean to the officer that you're admitting guilt.

Always pull over to the right. Always pull over on the right side of the roadway. On divided highways, signal and safely move over to the far right lane, and then to the shoulder. When you come to a complete stop, choose a section of roadway that has a full shoulder, without guardrails if possible. Pulling over on the left may obstruct traffic, and pulling over next to a guardrail may make it difficult for the officer to safely approach your car. Both are mistakes that won't win favor.

Know where your paperwork is. Normally, when a police officer first pulls you over, he/she will ask for your license, registration, and insurance. If you're not well organized and keep the officer waiting while you dig through your possessions, the officer may be less likely to sympathize.

Make the officer feel safe. Turn your dome light on at night. Always keep your hands in plain sight. Don't make any sudden movements. Roll your window down all the way. Stay in the car. Use common sense and don't put the officer in an uncomfortable situation.

Let the cop talk first. Don't blurt out things that could incriminate you. Keep your calm, even if you're upset about being stopped. Don't volunteer information, like how fast you thought you were going. The officer may not be pulling you over for what you think he is. Let him talk to you first. React kindly and you may have more of a chance to be sent on your way without a ticket.

Don't argue with the cop. Challenging the officer is a recipe for disaster, and likely means that you will be written up for the full offense and the officer will be less likely to opt for a compromise in court. So is asking to see the officer's radar-gun calibration records. If you are issued a ticket and wish to contest it, set a date in court.

There is nothing more scarier then a Pansy ass bully with a gun yelling at you, is there? Every now and then a cop will take his/her rage out on a citizen for no apparent reason. Maybe the cop is frustrated because he hasn't gotten laid in awhile? Maybe the cop feels the need to have to show who's the boss?

You ask if you should file a complaint against him for his actions? Well what would you do if a incompetent cook at McDonald's gave you the wrong order? You would complain wouldn't you? If you didn't get the service you paid for, you usually will complain to a manager right? Cops are no different. They are "public servants," they work for you and I. We pay their salary and for that, we expect a better officer then the one that pulled you over. We expect the cop to be competent enough hopefully, since the government allows him to carry a firearm and kill citizens at his discretion.

If you do file a complaint against the officer nothing may become of your complaint, but it will stay on the officers file. If there is a pattern of these types of complaints, his superiors may take action against the officer.
