Deputy Patricia Bailey Fayette County Sheriff's Deputy Patricia Bailey has been fired. The firing follows an investigation into her brother, John Bailey. Investigators say, back in October, he killed his wife, Lori, and then committed suicide. The investigation shows Lori Bailey had filed a civil protection order before she died. Patricia Bailey's fellow deputies, Ernest Jackson and Terry Olsen, went to the couple's home to serve the civil protection order. It required John Bailey to leave the home immediately and surrender all firearms within the home. Investigators say John Bailey instead called his sister, who was off-duty at the time. Investigators say Patricia Bailey went to her brother's home and interfered with the protection order. They say she stopped her fellow deputies from taking a weapons inventory, which, in turn, prevented all guns from being confiscated. The investigation also shows Patricia Bailey then watched as his brother ransacked the home, causing tens of thousands dollars in damage. One week later John Bailey kidnapped his wife, drove her to a farmhouse and shot and killed her before killing himself. Patricia Bailey is charged with conduct unbecoming of an officer, insubordination, and failure of good behavior. She and the two other deputies will stand trial next month. Deputies Jackson and Olsen will be disciplined, but the sheriff says they will keep their jobs. Two dispatchers and a shift supervisor have also been reprimanded. www.ohionewsnow.com/?sec=news&story=sites/10tv/content/pool/200701/148817761.html
