New York World Trade Center Firefighter Deaths - 343 Police Deaths - 75 That's a big difference between firefighters and police officers that rushed into the World Trade Center to help and rescue people. Police officers dont "Protect and Serve!" There are cowards!

In reference to the first posting on this page, I'm surprised the writer was smart enough to figure out the numbers. Oh, by the way, "there are" should be "they're". Take a spelling course you moron.

Who gives a flying fuck if his spelling is off? The numbers he stated are accurate. "Actually I think the number of cops killed is a little high." Don't be mad at someone who doesn't use spell check. I would be more upset of all the cops that didn't go in and try to help and rescue people. The poster got his point across. Where was that PROTECT and SERVE back on 9/11?

For those that can't figure it out, first of all the fireman were doing what they are trained to do. Enter a burning building and try to find survivors. Second, while the numbers for the police may not be as high as the firemen, they were busy on the streets trying to help those that were fleeing from the scene, as is their job. While the numbers are vastly different and for good reason, just remember who you call when there is a fire and then who you call when someone has stolen your personal possessions because you forgot to lock your car, raped your daughter or wife, and all of the crimes that obvious firemen don't get paid to do.

Hey "Watcher", you were real quick to defend that first posting. I got my point across too. The writer is illiterate and probably uneducated. Although this site is mostly a sounding board for people whose poor judgement and lack of ethics have caused them to have negative interaction with law enforcement, it is pretty entertaining.

Ok so what you are saying is, that the police have no duty to protect and serve the public?

So what you're saying is that the police were doing what they are good at, traffic control? People screaming for help, people jumping from windows and what did the police officer do? They didn't run in there to save no one "well only 75 cops did." Cops are not trained to rescue people or save lives now are they? "It takes special training to save a life right?" Any real man with a heart would have ran to the aid of women and men screaming for help. Instead the cops roped off the area and watched.

If all of you were not such idiots, you would realize that at any time, there are at least five times as many firemen on duty as there are police. In the city where I work, there is at least one entire manned fire station for every police officer on the street. Do the math. I'm sure that it was the same there. All you're doing is showing your ignorance when you make comments about things that you have no idea about.

Hey "Watcher".... this site is mostly a sounding board for people whose poor judgement and lack of ethics have caused them to have negative interaction with law enforcement.... It's amazing that this is the only excuse you could come up with, as to why disslike the cops. Did you ever think that there might be other reasons why some people don't like them? Take me for example. I've never had an encounter with a police officer that was due to my "poor judgement and lack of ethics". In the last six months, I've been pulled over 13 times.....for simply having a "copwatch" sticker on my car.....and that's just one of the many reasons why I don't like them. Not to mention, every time I turn on my computer or open a newspaper, there's always at least 5 stories of cops getting in trouble.

what a sad post...... police are not equipped to handle fire calls, a gun cannot prevent getting burned, the cops who did get hurt were esu police and 30= port authority police working in the building.. before you post something stupid do your home work, all fire calls = firemen..

I ve spent the last half hour looking this site over. While keeping an eye on authority is a good idea and people should question authority, this site is just a place for WATCHER to grind his Axe. He pulls in others with a dislike for Police and they go to town. Have fun with Police bashing. I for one believe in what they try to do and what they stand for. I wont be back to this site.
