Jan 14, 2007 (CBS) MIRA LOMA, Calif. A sheriff's deputy was injured when another deputy fired his gun at an "aggressive dog" during a search for a parole violator and the bullet or debris ricocheted into his face, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. The deputies went to a home about 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the 5800 block of Troth Street in Mira Loma after receiving an anonymous tip that a parole violator was at the location, according to sheriff's Investigator Jerry Franchville. "A dog advanced towards them. One of the deputies shot towards the dog and at the same time another deputy was struck in the face," said Franchville. "We don't know if the bullet ricocheted or maybe debris ended up hitting another deputy in the face." The injured deputy was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was treated and released, Franchville said. The dog was uninjured and deputies were unable to locate the suspect, Franchville said. cbs2.com/local/local_story_014094232.html

First, whatever I aim at I hit the first time. Second, this "aggressive dog" that was uninjured didn't seem to pose a problem for the balance of the investigation.
