Wallingford- A Wallingford police officer turned himself in Wednesday to face charges in a crash that killed an 80-year-old man. Officer Andrew Decusati is facing a charge of misconduct with a motor vehicle. Decusati crashed into a pickup truck in August 2005, killing Harry Williams. Decusati turned himself in to be arrested by state police. State troopers took over the investigation shortly after the fatal accident. Members of the force say this is a tragedy for the victim, his family, and the officer involved. "It's a hard pill to swallow," Lt. Mark Mikulski, WalLingford Police, said. "Officer Decusati was responding to a medical call, trying to help somebody else out, and something bad happened on his way." Since the crash Officer Decusati remained on active duty. Lt. Mikulski says the department is waiting for a report from state police before deciding whether to take action against him. www.wtnh.com/Global/story.asp?S=6158313
