2006-12-23 BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS – A rookie detention officer with the Brazos County Sheriff's Office was detained early Friday on a charge of assaulting her boyfriend with a tire iron, authorities said. Kimberly Denise Johnson of College Station called 911 to report the incident about 3 a.m., according to an officer's affidavit. She told sheriff's deputies that she hit the man in the face after an argument and caused a cut under his right eye. She was arrested for family violence assault and was released on $5,000 bail. Johnson had been employed at the Brazos County Jail for nine days before the incident. She was suspended with pay Friday pending an internal affairs investigation, authorities said. www.theeagle.com/local/
