February 3, 2007 A Forest Park police detective was convicted Wednesday of driving drunk. Ronald I. Harris, 38, was cited March 28 by Cpl. Peter Prybal of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. Harris was driving east on Interstate 275, where court records show his car was involved in a crash. A jury before Hamilton County Municipal Judge John Burlew convicted Harris on Wednesday of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He will be sentenced Feb. 15 by Burlew. Harris faces possible disciplinary action. "Despite any personal difficulties (Harris) has had, he's been a good police officer for us," said Forest Park City Manager Ray Hodges. Harris makes $59,000 per year. He will be honored Feb. 10 by the Greater Cincinnati Chinese Chamber of Commerce for his part in helping solve a rash of robberies in 2005 and 2006 against restaurants operated by Asian-Americans. Harris helped organize a multi-jurisdictional task force to investigate those robberies. news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070203/NEWS01/702030431/1056/COL02
