01.02.2007 - SPOKANE -- A failed drug test has landed a former Spokane County Sheriff's deputy back in court. Officer James Crabtree was arrested in court Tuesday where his bail remained at $150,000 after cocaine was discovered in his urine. This past Halloween, Crabtree crossed the centerline and was involved in a crash on North Market. Crabtree was arrested for DUI after the crash. The other driver in the collision was not injured. Crabtree was convicted of vehicular assault after he crossed the centerline on Bigelow Gulch Road and hit Sheriff's patrol Sergeant Earl Howerton head-on in 2002. Howerton was able to return to work after a year of recovery. www.kxly.com/news/?sect_rank=2§ion_id=560&story_id=7414
