Officer Troy Parker Sept. 01, 2006 - PEORIA -- The Peoria police officer accused of driving a boat while drunk and causing a fatal accident pleaded not guilty in court on Thursday. Officer Troy Parker is a 6-year veteran of the Peoria Police Department. He's charged with seven counts of reckless endangerment and aggravated operation of a watercraft under the influence of alcohol. Parker was driving a boat that crashed into a barge on the Illinois River on June 15. Damon Teverbaugh of Peoria died in that accident. Another passenger in the boat, Tammy Warnke of East Peoria, remains in the hospital in fair condition. Parker's next court appearance is November 1. www.hoinews.com/news/news_story.aspx?id=16126
