03/15/2006 - WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- A former town of Mamaroneck police officer faces one to two years in prison after pleading guilty Tuesday to charges of attempted drug sale and possession of stolen property.
Frank Dellacamera is a 16-year police veteran who began his career in Mount Vernon. He had been charged in a 17-count indictment in connection with an undercover sting operation conducted by the Westchester District Attorney's Office and the State Police.
He pleaded guilty Tuesday in White Plains to one count each of attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance and attempted possession of stolen property. He was scheduled to be sentenced on June 6.
During the six-month investigation, Dellacamera was caught on tape several times discussing the sale of cocaine to an undercover officer posing as a drug addict. Dellacamera was also accused of offering to buy $5,000 worth of electronic equipment he believed to be stolen.
In September 2004, Dellacamera paid $2,000 to an undercover officer for equipment that included a 42-inch plasma television, a Nintendo Game Cube and a digital video recorder.
He was arrested the following month and terminated as a police officer on Nov. 30, 2004.
Dellacamera was arrested with three other men, including former Mamaroneck Officer Dominick Forti, who retired from the force following an incident in Greenwich, Conn. He was charged with pointing a gun at a microphone at a Taco Bell drive-through restaurant after an employee told him the restaurant was closed.
Forti was charged with two felony drug charges and one misdemeanor in connection with the same investigation and remains free on $10,000 bail.
