BATON ROUGE, La. - A Baton Rouge police officer was arrested Tuesday in two rapes that allegedly happened while the police officer was in uniform and driving his patrol car. Baton Rouge Police Chief Jeff LeDuff said officer Jim Rogers, 29, resigned before being booked into the parish jail on two counts each of aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping and malfeasance in office. Rogers joined the force in November 2004. The rapes allegedly occurred Feb. 5 and Feb. 8. In the first, a woman said the officer ordered her to lie down in the back of his patrol car. "The victim stated the officer became upset, pulled his weapon out of his holster, and threatened to kill her if she did not do what he wanted her to do," police said in a written statement.
