A 53-year-old Arapahoe County sheriff’s deputy has been indicted by a federal grand jury on child pornography charges. Deputy Douglas Morrill Peek of Centennial is charged with transportation, possession, distribution and receipt of child pornography. He was arrested by the FBI this morning without incident and made his initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Denver this afternoon. Count one of the indictment alleges that Peek transported, via the Internet, a movie containing child pornography. Count two charges Peek with possession of a desktop computer containing numerous images of child pornography, including images of toddlers being forced to engage in sexual activity. Count three alleges that Peek used his computer to distribute an image containing child pornography via the Internet. Count four charges that Peek knowingly received an e-mail containing child pornography. If convicted he faces up to 20 years in a federal prison and up to a $250,000 fine. "The Department of Justice will pursue and prosecute those who commit crimes involving the exploitation of children, no matter who they are, or what position they hold," said United States Attorney Troy Eid.
