JACKSON, Miss. A federal appeals court is upholding the conviction of a former Jackson police officer who was sentenced to nearly four years for bank robbery. A three-judge panel of the 5th U-S Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans yesterday (Tuesday) upheld the bank robbery conviction of 49-year-old Officer Steve Fasano of Clinton. Fasano's attorney, Tom Lowe of Jackson, said yesterday that he hasn't decided whether to appeal the case to the full 5th U-S Circuit Court of Appeals. In 2005, a U-S District Court jury convicted Fasano of the robbery, and a judge sentenced him to nearly four years in prison. Fasano was arrested on October 19th, 2004, and charged with the May 14th, 2002, robbery of Citizens State Bank in Morton. www.wmcstations.com/Global/story.asp?S=6086557
