The mayor says that "no one's above the law." Yeah, no one except for politicians! Otherwise someone would have been indicted for costing the city perhaps thousands by maybe even intentionally (without an investigation, how do we know for sure that this "error" wasn't intentional?) putting the police levy on the ballot early; Nolan, Mason, and McMonagle would all be in at least ethics trouble for mismatching names on indictments, illegally obtaining the indictments, and then illegally retroactively appointing Nolan a county prosecutor in clear violation of the Ohio Revised Code. Sure, the police and all of the rest of us aren't above the law, but if you have any connections to the Parma Machine/Good Old Boys or whatever you want to call, you can apparently get away with just about anything!
I don't blame anyone other than the officer for what he's done, but I don't like how only select people are being held accoutable for their crimes, but the politicians are allowed to skate for all the crummy things they've done. If someone's selling drugs then, yes, they should be busted, but so should crooked judges, prosecutors, etc. as well for what they've done.
And plus, what's with "superstar" investigator Dick DiCicco and "uber" persecutor Michelle Nolan conducting this out of control long investigation that just turns up totally unrelated nonsense about one bowling alley that amounts to like 200 bucks for each officer and yet the dastardly duo seem to have missed the drug charges about the one officer (C-something?) and now this retired one that were far more serious!? Priorities . . . what a farce!
