That picture shows Hudson, Ohio Police Officers using mace on students at a peacefull walkout. Over 20 Hudson officers responded to the "riot" as well as squads from 6 neighboring communities and the Summit County Special Response/SWAT Team. One student was arrested for rioting because he told an officer to "f*** off." The students walked out in support of their principal Roger Howard whose contract was not renewed by the Board of Education.

if the officers told the students to disperse and they didnt, then they became an unlawful assembly. if they still refused to move, the officers could do whatever they needed to move them (less than lethal of course).

Don't forget this is not America the free no more! You can't have peaceful assemblies, unless you go to another country and do it.
You can't say "fuck you" to the police without hurting their little feelings.
Fuck you officer Robert Walker Fuck you officer Kenneth Ciesla Fuck you officer David Devore
The three officer above get the "pussy" of the year award.
You have to remember that most of the Hudson police officers, were born out of wedlock when their moms worked the street.

yea, looks like a real peaceful assembly. the law says that if the property owner wants them removed, or if they are there illegally, then they are in violation of the law.

There are times and places that call for an "unlawful assembly." By today's standards, our founding fathers would have been "terrorists" for dumping the tea in Boston Harbor and we could still be subjects of the crown. Remember that well. How soon we forget the nightmare of Nazi Germany. I maintain that the Holocaust was possible partly because of Hitler's 1933 Gun Control Law, which was translated and used to form the Omnibus Anti-Crime Law in our nation a few years ago. Bullies prefer unarmed victims. Also, the National Socialists (Nazis) used media propaganda to lull Germans into applauding each new crackdown. The blood of millions stained their reputations forever and I dare say that these "good Germans" would give everything they have to turn back the clock and stop the police abuse before it went that far. It didn't start out looking so bad at first. They just accepted and justified one action at a time until their neighbor's emaciated bodies were being flung into crematoriums. These are harsh comparisons, but need to be made.
All that being said, I'd like to talk to those who speak so hatefully of those Hudson police officers. Yes, they did wrong, if I understand and trust the information given. I am the first to agree that sometimes force must be met with force, but that is a drastic last resort. Wouldn't it be better to possibly show these bullies the error of their way and just maybe lead them to a change of heart? First, appeal to the superiors who were responsible for the actions of the cops. Do so with reason, not screams and rotten tomatoes. Write letters to newspapers and public officials, make a few phone calls, hold an orderly meeting in a public place. I am a self-admitted nobody, but I've gotten the attention of legislators, I've gotten on television and in newspapers. Sometimes I won, sometimes I didn't. Some people liked me, some hated me, and some former enemies came to respect me enough to make friends and listen to me. I believe that 98 percent of you reading this post have more talent, money, looks and resources than I do. Learn a little patience. Don't give the cops reason to point out your lack of control; it just fuels their fire. Choose your battles carefully and don't dump the tea in the harbor as a "first step."
That's just my opinion.

In a show of no confidence, Hudson voters recently replaced all incumbent candidates for School Committee and City Council, widely interpreted to be a commentary on School Board-police-citizen relations.
Lt. Walker & Sgt. Ciesla, the agressive officers at the student assembly, were also indicted in an off-duty incident, an assault on a couple following a James Taylor concert, and were to stand trial Nov 30th. Both pleaded guilty days before and await sentencing. The victims accidentally brushed Walker's Jeep Cherokee with a wicker picnic basket as they exited the concert. There was no damage. Ciesla was determined to be the more agressive and charged with Felonious Assault.
"They pretty much broke every bone on the left side of my face," the victim said, adding that he still has trouble eating solid food.
The Akron Beacon Journal quotes the Prosecutor as saying, "Ciesla, 40, delivered the most brutal blows, sucker-punching Sawyer and then kicking the fallen man's head ``like a football,'' causing three fractures."
It wasn't even Ciesla's car. Witnesses noted Walker's license plate as they left the scene.
Walker has also been implicated in the cover up of Officer Devore, the out-of-control cop who confiscated a photograper's camera after pictures were taken of the officer's cruiser being towed out of mud following a poorly executed U-turn. While in police possession, the memory chip was purged, including the photog's vacation pictures.
Walker & Ciesla are to be sentenced Dec 20th. The Summit County Prosecutor has recommended no jail time for either of them.
Ciesla has put his home in his wife's name only, and Walker has put his in the name of a third party.
Devore and the city have been sued by the photographer and the case is in federal court.

Pay Day!!
Both Walker & Ciesla got three years probation with Ciesla required to do 90 days alcohol rehab in Oriana House (jail) where DUIs are sent to serve time.
Re Hadenuff's question, "Wouldn't it be better to possibly show these bullies the error of their way and just maybe lead them to a change of heart? First, appeal to the superiors who were responsible for the actions of the cops", I'd answer that people with a hair trigger who are naturally agressive and violently over-react aren't readily retrained, and should never be trusted with authority, much less a gun. As a felon, Ciesla won't be carrying one any longer.
Further, both of them ARE superior officers. one a Sgt, the other a Lieut.
One more detail. The official police transcript of the pepper spray incident reports that the students were sprayed 6 minutes before they were ordered to disperse.
The victim of the concert assault still has difficulty swallowing. Not surprising with a broken jaw and three other facial fractures administered by Ciesla, the one who stated at the sentencing, "" gave a lot of people a second chance of life and that's what I'm here today ... to ask for a second chance,"
I'll bet the victim whose wicker basket brushed Walker's Cherokee would like to have had one of those second chances from Ciesla, who needn't have been involved since it wasn't his car.
Case Closed.

This is ONE incident, that the victims were lucky...Lucky to have made it public, and especially lucky to have walked away at all. I know for a fact that most police abuse goes unreported and ignored when it is reported. I am a survivor of a severe 3 day long police beating 6 years ago that still haunts my sleep at night. I have been run from my home for fear for my life. I have not seen most of my family for over 6 years because of this incident. I still have severe physical disabilities from my beating....These cops should DIE!! They are bad people and have sociopathic tendancies with serious chemical, neurorological imbalances. Like a car that needs a recall these cops should be recycled in prisons and death camps to eliminate these things from happening and becoming acceptable amongst their ranks. These cops are nothing short of Nazis. the only reason any of these bad seeds repent at all is because they got caught. They should die and be made examples of!!!
